do ppl play harvest moon without a faq? like i’m genuinely concerned for ppl that do?? how do you play the game??? do u just farm??? how do u know when the heart events are, and all the conditions for them? how will you know what the villagers like w/o decreasing their friendship points??

some people normally stick to one main activity (farming crops/tending animals) with only a few things to do on the other. if you already have a lot of animals, maybe cutback on maybe one 2x2 for each crop for the season?
hi there! thanks for replying to my harvest moon posts. I’m coming very late to the party and it doesn’t seem like many people are playing it/talking about it anymore. Which is why I am really stoked for the next one to come out. I’m hoping there are better multiplayer options too. It would be cool to hang out in each others towns like in animal crossing.
anyway, time management, yes. that sounds reasonable. I was trying to do ALLL THE THINGS. the guides make it sound so easy. “stock pile 30 of these” blah blah blah… getting 30 takes me a couple fields and an entire season.
and i’m struggling with the “making friends” part. the people don’t say anything interesting so I don’t have alot of interest in wasting precious hours hunting them down to give them some flower that they barely express interest in. but from what i’m reading, it seems that I have to make friends with them to unlock more shops and things.
but. I’m in no rush. I don’t have to do it all in a year. right? right.
(I guess I’m kinda chatty right now.)
I’m having some difficulty with time management in this game (harvest moon 3DS a new beginning).
In the first season (spring) I had just one cow and one chicken and only a few fields, so I spent most of my time gathering stuff in the forest and went to bed early a lot.
In the summer, I got access to more animals and started fishing a whole bunch.
But now it’s fall and I’m feeling really really overwhelmed. It takes me a very long time just to water all my crops.
I have the first water can upgrade (iron) which allows me to water two squares at once. But that really isn’t enough. I have the pattern for a silver upgrade, but no access to the mine and no one is selling silver.
Maybe I should have less fields? Maybe I should sell off some chickens?
I read that I can have multiple barns of animals? I can’t imagine taking care of that many. I’ve got 8 chickens right now and it’s pretty time consuming to give them all treats and pick them all up. They keep running around, and I’m not sure which ones I’ve already done.
so just the farming and the gathering is taking up all of my time. I’m not talking to all the villagers and I rarely give them gifts. I’m worried that I’m not going to progress socially because I’m spending all my time watering crops. But not quite sure what to do.
